Last week officially kicked off High Point Market, which is well known among top interior designers as the largest furnishing trade show worldwide. After browsing thousands of this year’s hottest furniture and decor styles, a few distinctive looks certainly made it onto our trend radar.
As aspiring interior designers, it’s crucial to keep an eye on these upcoming looks in order to stay ahead of the curve. While not all of your clients are looking for modern style, many are- and fully expect you to incorporate these new trends in your work (before they become too common and mainstream). So this year, here’s what stood out:
Cut-Away FurnitureTake an online Interior Design Course.
Circles seem to be making a comeback in decor this year, and we’re all for it. Their simple, fluid shape offers a sense of energy and light-heartedness to a blank wall space.
The simple style featured above is super inexpensive as well- we found this set on Etsy. This particular set included three indigo watercolors in a minimalist representation of stripes, paint strokes and, of course, circles. The entire set costs only €33.65 and is an easy example of how to incorporate this growingly popular circle style into a client’s home.
Accent TablesWe were particularly excited to see the accent table making a comeback this season because of the added functionality these can offer to any space.
Whether it’s in a living room or next to the master bed, simple accent tables offer a nice, polished look to your designs. Not only that, you can easily update the décor placed on top of them with the seasons as a quick way to breathe instant fresh air into your room. We found this one on Apartment Therapy’s list of their under-$100 favorites.
