Yes. New York Institute of Art and Design is the only online design school to be both licensed by the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission. We are also nationally accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Learn more about NYIAD Accreditation here.
Yes. All of NYIAD's courses are online except for the Feng Shui Interior Design Course, which is sent to students through the mail. There are no residential classrooms or campuses.
All NYIAD students are paired with a personal mentor. He or she is a working professional in your field of study and a licensed teacher there to guide you and answer all your questions as you move through your course. The New York Institute of Art and Design is an online school and all of our courses are online with the exception of the Feng Shui Interior Design Courses, which is delivered to students via mail. No you do not. Our courses are designed to take you from wherever you are now to wherever you want to go. We assume no prior training. Our training starts with the basics and gradually moves on to more advanced skills and techniques.

Yes. All of NYIAD's courses are offered entirely online with the exception of the Feng Shui Interior Design Course, which is delivered via mail. You can take our online courses on any internet-connected device - desktops, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
It depends on your schedule and how much time you have to devote to the course. We give you up to 18 months to complete the course at no additional charge. The average completion time for all our courses ranges from 8-12 months.

Yes you will. The New York Institute of Art and Design has a proud history of training successful interior designers, wedding and event planners, jewelry designers and personal stylists. Every graduate will receive an NYIAD Certificate of Completion that proves you have the skills required to make it in the field. In addition, several of our courses are certified by professional organizations in their corresponding industry. Our Interior Design Course is certified by Designer Society of America and our Wedding Planning Course is certified by the Association of Bridal Consultants.
Because we have students from all over the world, not just in one region, we are not able to offer opportunities like this. However, your student advisor will gladly help you brainstorm ways to find some in your area.
Possibly. The IRS permits you to deduct the cost of your NYIAD training under certain circumstances. Whether you qualify depends on your individual situation. Consult with your tax advisor to find out if it's deductible for you.
Because of the lower cost and shorter length of our courses, they do not meet the requirements for standard financial aid programs. However, NYIAD is approved to offer military financial assistance for veterans and spouses. Learn more about NYIAD's military tuition assistance programs here.
If your country is not listed on the enrollment form, this is because we do not currently accept credit cards from said country. In order to enroll, you must first contact the school and complete a bank transfer. Please contact the school for more information.

We do not accept transfer credit for any of our courses. Students wishing to transfer coursework from here to another institution should check with the receiving institution to understand their policy on transfer credits.
