NYIAD is the only school that pairs its students with professional interior design mentors. You will learn interior design online with access to interior design mentors by phone and email. They will provide feedback on your work and help you improve.

    Janet Ramin

    Janet has been a residential designer for many years. Starting out in San Francisco where she graduated from the Academy of Art with a degree in interior design, she began her career working on commercial mixed-use projects in the Bay Area.

  • Nicola Chernicoff

    Nicola Chernicoff

    Nicola Chernicoff has been an interior design professional with over twenty years of experience in London and New York City. She started her design career in fabrics under Jim Thompson. Later working as an assistant to prestigious interior designer Nina Campbell at Woodstock Designs for Lady Henrietta Spencer Churchill, Nicola currently works in interior design in New York City for Irwin Weiner Interiors.

  • Lisa Tabalac

    Lisa Tabalac

    Lisa Talbac earned her degree in interior design at the New York School of Interior Design and has worked on both residential and commercial projects since 2000, when she began her own interior design business in Connecticut. She also holds a B.A. in education and has worked as a teacher and school director for over 25 years before entering the design world.

  • Linda Kohlman

    Linda Kohlman

    Linda Kohlman is an Interior Designer who lives and works in New York City. Linda has been practicing Interior Design for many years and has worked for well-known international design firms in New York City. Linda began her career in Retail design and worked on high-end projects such as Gucci and Barney's.

About Our Mentor Program

The New York Institute of Art and Design is the only online school that gives you access to a professional designer who will act as your teacher and mentor.

You will benefit from a personal relationship just like you would get in the classroom. Our mentors are there to answer your questions via phone or email at every turn.

In addition, you will submit projects throughout the course which will be evaluated by your teacher. They are there to help you improve as you master the craft.
