The Role of a Corporate Event Planner

By NYIAD Even Planning Mentor on August 18, 2015

The New York Institute of Art and Design offers an event planning course and because we do, we like to provide free tips for event planners. Enjoy!

A corporate event planner is there to make sure that an event goes off without a hitch. They are there to ensure that the quality of an event is elevated, that vendors are working well together, that all facets of the event are well-planned and run smoothly throughout.

“The role of an event planner is really to keep everything on par and moving forward,” says Jes Gordon, professional event planner and expert featured in NYIAD’s Event Planning Course. “Everything has to be succinct, well-timed, and well-organized.”

As a corporate event planner, you are often working for someone at a company or organization responsible for pulling off the event. They’ve hired you to make sure the event is as good as it can possibly be. And often times their job may be on the line if it isn’t.

So it’s important to recognize that when you don’t do your job, you are risking someone else’s.
