Unit 1 UX Fundamentals

Lesson 1.1 Introduction to UX Design
In Lesson 1.1: Introduction to UX Design, you’ll take an introductory look at user interfaces and user experience. You’ll also analyze the skills, tools, and workflows used by UX designers and UX design teams.

Lesson 1.2 Adobe XD Basics
In Lesson 1.2: Adobe XD Basics, you’ll walk through the first steps of using the Adobe XD application, including basic file management, interface terminology, application navigation, document setup, and project modification.

Lesson 1.3 Graphic Lessons
In Lesson 1.3: Graphic Lessons, you’ll focus on creating vector shapes using drawing and shape tools in Adobe XD. Then, you’ll look at the different properties associated with shapes for stylization of graphic elements.

Lesson 1.4 Symbols and Icons
In Lesson 1.4: Symbols and Icons, you’ll explore symbols and iconography so you can understand how to use shapes, symbols, and icons in interface design.

Lesson 1.5: User Interface Design
In Lesson 1.5: User Interface Design, you’ll review the intricacies of different types of user interfaces, analyze the basic anatomy of an interface, and look at ways to import pre-build design templates in Adobe XD.
Unit 2 UX Methods

Lesson 2.1 UX Design Theory
In Lesson 2.1: UX Design Theory, you’ll dig into the theoretical aspects of user experience, including the elements and principles of design, UX design factors, and methods of design analysis that can be applied to your projects.

Lesson 2.2 Imagery
In Lesson 2.2: Imagery, you’ll examine the principles of designing with imagery. You’ll also look at how to add and make basic and advanced modifications to images in your design.

Lesson 2.3 Typography
In Lesson 2.3: Typography, you’ll analyze the anatomy, readability, and legibility of type, better understand font selection for web design, and add text to an Adobe XD project.

Lesson 2.4 Layers, Groups, and Objects
In Lesson 2.4: Layers, Groups, and Objects, you’ll find out more about objects and layers in Adobe XD. First, you’ll add, edit, and organize layer objects using the Layers panel. Then, you’ll explore object positioning and alignment in the application.

Lesson 2.5 Asset Management
In Lesson 2.5: Asset Management, you’ll review the importance, conventions, and techniques associated with asset management. Then, you’ll study how to use assets in your design in Adobe XD with the Assets panel.
Unit 3 UX Strategies

Lesson 3.1 UX Design Process
In Lesson 3.1: UX Design Process, you’ll explore the design process associated with creating a better user experience. Here, you’ll start with a design problem and apply the process to create design solutions.

Lesson 3.2 Design Systems
In Lesson 3.2: Design Systems, you’ll look at one of the most important aspects of design management -- a design system. You’ll practice applying a design system, so you’re able to create a design language to communicate every aspect of your designs effectively.

Lesson 3.3 Navigation Systems
In Lesson 3.3: Navigation Systems, your understanding of Adobe Photoshop will be taken to the next level. You’ll learn when to use Photoshop instead of another tool such as Illustrator, how to use Photoshop’s functions to improve workflow and more advanced techniques to improve photography design imagery.

Lesson 3.4 Content Strategy
In Lesson 3.4: Content Strategy, you’ll explore the process of developing a content strategy for an interface. By analyzing objectives, needs, and requirements, you can define a strategy to prioritize and organize content on a website or in an application.

Lesson 3.5 Layouts
In Lesson 3.5: Layouts, you’ll study layout essentials for the web, such as display formats and grid systems. Then, you’ll review design strategies for responsive layouts and wireframes. The lesson will wrap with reviewing tools in Adobe XD for effectively creating layouts.
Unit 4 UX Techniques

Lesson 4.1 Interaction
In Lesson 4.1: Interaction, you’ll take a closer look at interactivity in design, including user controls, navigational components, and user feedback. You’ll then look at how those items are used in a user interface.

Lesson 4.2 Prototyping
In Lesson 4.2: Prototyping, you’ll explore one of the fundamental aspects of UX design -- prototyping. You’ll review the types of prototypes, find out how they are used in the design process, and study how to turn static designs into prototypes in Adobe XD.

Lesson 4.3 Animation
In Lesson 4.3: Animation, you’ll study the complexities of animation in a user interface, and how animation is used to improve the user experience. Then, using Adobe XD tools, you’ll create component animations and state-to-state transitions.

Lesson 4.4 Communication and Collaboration
In Lesson 4.4: Communication and Collaboration, you’ll review the techniques to improve communication and collaboration within the UX design team.

Lesson 4.5 Documentation and Specifications
In Lesson 4.5: Documentation and Specifications, you’ll finalize your design deliverable by studying how to properly document the design and create a specification document to hand over to a web developer.

Lesson 5.1 Portfolio Development
In Lesson 5.1: Portfolio Development, you’ll explore one of the most important aspects of becoming a UX professional -- a portfolio. You’ll review tools, techniques, and tips to help develop a UX design portfolio.

Lesson 5.2 Portfolio Presentation
In Lesson 5.2: Portfolio Presentation, you’ll focus on presenting an individual UX project by telling the story of design and showing the work to allow employers to see your capabilities as a UX designer.

Lesson 5.3 Portfolio Projects
In Lesson 5.3: Portfolio Projects, you’ll look at ways to grow and improve your portfolio -- whether as a student or a professional. The goal is to give you options and a list of pathways to choose from while growing your body of work.

Lesson 5.4 Professional Development
In Lesson 5.4: Professional Development, you’ll explore some of the professional development aspects of pursuing a career as a UX designer, including advice for resumes, job searching, and interviews, as well as setting career goals for yourself.
