Description of Institution
New York Institute of Art and Design was founded in 1985 as the Sheffield School of Interior Design. The name was shortened in 2003 to permit a wider variety of offerings in design-related fields, and changed once again in 2013 to New York Institute of Art and Design.
Student Demographic Profile
NYIAD enrolls adult education students who are interested in the programs we offer. Over 90% are from the United States, 5% from Canada, and the rest of the students are from over 30 different countries.
